PALCOYO MOUNTAIN

Cusco - Palcoyo

We will leave at 04:30 hrs. from our meeting point in the Plaza de Armas where a professional mobility will pick us up to go to the destination.
We will start the tour for two and a half hours to Checacupe, where we will see the evolutionary process of the road system in time through three colonial bridges: the Inca Bridge, the Colonial Bridge and the Republican Bridge.
Once the visit to this archaeological center is finished, we will continue with the tour for an hour and a half more, until we reach the Rainbow Mountain Range of Palccoyo, located at 4,900 meters above sea level. At this point, we will start the walk for 40 more minutes. In this section, we will be able to appreciate the valleys, the eroded glaciers and the brightly colored Permian formations. Likewise, we will observe the communities and farmers that live in the highest areas, as well as a large number of animals including alpacas, llamas and sheep. Another important point that we can observe will be the Stone Forest (Ccacca Loma and the Red Mountain). Also, the circuit of the Cuatro Lagunas, where we will appreciate different lakes such as Acopia, Pomacanchis, Posposqo Cocha and Misky Cocha. In addition, the variety of birds and the impressive landscape will amaze more than one.
After this enriching tour and getting to know the Palccoyo Mountain Range, we will make a stop in the town of Cusipata, to enjoy a buffet lunch. After our sharing, we will start the way back to Cusco. The tour will end at approximately 5:00 p.m. in the Plaza Regocijo, in the center of Cusco.
