Waqrapukara Tour is a new and recently promoted tourist attraction in Cusco located in the province of Acomayo near the Apurimac river at 4,300 meters above sea level. (13,123 feet), south of the city of Cusco. Waqrapukara has not yet been deciphered and can be considered as a fortress, a sanctuary or an astronomical observatory.

Very early around 3.30 am We will pick you up from your hotel to go to the starting point of our 2.5 hour walk to the province of Acomayo, where we will enjoy a circuit of four Acomayo lagoons. We continue for 30 more minutes to Laguna Qenterococha (4,330 mts 14,138 feet) where we will have a delicious breakfast. After our breakfast, we will start our trek to the Waqrapukara complex. On the way to our walk, we will be able to identify the flora and wildlife of the area. Once we get to the first Waqrapukara viewpoint, we will take a break and then continue until we reach our goal. Finally we will arrive at this incredible place, we will rest, to explore the archaeological center with our guide who will give us all the detailed information, then we will have free time to explore and take a photo. Then we will start walking back. But we will take a different path that is easier and also has different views of the Apurimac Canyon. We will return to the beginning of the trail at around 1:40:00 pm, where our private mobility awaits us and we will also have lunch. We will return to Cusco around 7:00 p.m. Travelers who make the trip to Waqrapukara must be in good physical condition and with good acclimatization to the altitude.
